Marjorie
Charlop-Christy, PhD.
Dr.
Charlop-Christy is a Professor of Psychology at Claremont McKenna
College as well as Director of the Claremont Autism Center, a
behavioral treatment and research program for autistic children and
their families. A presenter at conferences worldwide, her research
focuses on the treatment of speech and language, social skills, and
motivation. She has authored numerous publications and technical
manuals, one of which was translated into Chinese, marking one of the
first disseminations of its kind in Asia. She has served on the
editorial board of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Anslysis and
Education and Treatment of Children. Email me!

Laura
Schriebman, PhD.
Laura
Schreibman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University
of California, San Diego where she has been on the faculty since 1983.
She earned her Ph.D. at UCLA where she focused on the field of behavior
analysis and treatment of childhood autism. Her research since her
degree has continued in the same vein and she currently directs UCSD
Autism Research Program, a research program focusing on the
experimental analysis and treatment of autism. Her general research
interests include developing individualized treatment protocols,
analysis of language and attentional deficits, generalization of
behavior change, parent training, peer training, and issues of
assessment. She is the author of two books and over 120 research
articles and book chapters. The Science and Fiction of Autism,
published by Harvard University Press is her third book.

Michael CC
Sze
Michael
Sze is a former Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development
Council (TDC) (1996 to 2004), the statutory organization responsible
for promoting and developing Hong Kong’s external trade. Before joining
the TDC, Mr. Sze was the Secretary for the Secretary for the Civil
Service. In a civil service career spanning more than 25 years, he
headed a number a number of policy branches and departments, including
the Trade Department. From 1992-1996, he was a member of the Executive
Council, the Government’s highest policy-making body. In recognition of
his service to Hong Kong he was awarded an Imperial Service Order in
1990 and made a Commander of the British Empire in 1995.
After his retirement from TDC in May 2004 Mr. Sze continued his
voluntary service to the community as a member of the Operations Review
Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the
Public Service Commission. He is an Independent Non-executive Director
of the Swire Pacific Limited and a Non-executive Director of Lee Kum
Kee Co. Ltd.
Mr. Sze was appointed a non-official Justice of the Peace in 1997
and awarded a Gold Bauhinia Star in 2004 by the Government of the Hong
Kong Special Administrative Region. In recognition of his efforts to
promote economic exchanges between Japan and Hong Kong he was awarded
in 2004 the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon by his
Majesty the Emperor of Japan.

Joey
Travolta
Joey
Travolta is a successful actor, director, and producer who started the
critically acclaimed acting school, Actors for Autism. Most recently,
Travolta served as the producer of the film Normal People Scare Me,
a documentary about how autistic people see the rest of the world
directed by Taylor Cross. Cross, a 17-year-old film maker, is autistic.
The film features autistic people talking of their feelings about the
NT world.

Mikhail
Gershfeld, MS
Mikhail
Gershfeld is a Registered Structural Engineer in the State of
California and has Master of Engineering Degree from Cal Poly, Pomona.
His professional carrier includes engineering consulting, university
teaching, and manufacturing. He was involved in the design of hundreds
of residential, commercial and institutional projects in Southern
California, was a Professor at California State Polytechnic University,
Civil Engineering Department and was a CEO of a medium-sized
manufacturing company. After early retirement Mikhail joined The
Engineered Wood Association, non-profit industry organization as its
Engineered Wood Specialist in Southern California and has also returned
to teaching at California State Poly, Pomona’s Civil Engineering
Department.

Sara
Gershfeld
Sara
Gershfeld received her dual bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and
psychology from Scripps
College and is a
doctoral candidate in applied developmental psychology program at Claremont Graduate University.
She has worked as a research assistant with Marjorie H. Charlop at the
Claremont Autism Center at Claremont McKenna College during most of her
undergraduate studies. At the Autism Center, she has been involved in a
number of research projects relating to effective methods of teaching
social behaviors to children with autism using multiple incidental
teaching sessions (MITS) and one-on-one treatment, and a project teaching
parents to manage their children's behavior problems. Sara has presented her research at a
number of professional conferences including the Annual Convention for
Behavior Analysis and the Western Psychological Association. She recently
was awarded a Autism Special Interest Research Award for her senior
thesis under the guidance of Dr. Debra Berry Malmberg. Email

Kaitlin E.
Christy
Ms.
Christy, Coordinator of Youth Volunteers at ART, is currently an 8th grader
at South Pasadena Middle School. She has been a member of Associated
Student Body and has served as Treasurer for her class. As a competitive
swimmer, Ms. Christy has participated in the Junior Olympics, and has been
awarded MVP multiple times on her summer swim team. Her passion for drama
has led her to win a number of drama competitions in Southern California.
Ms. Christy aims to put the skills she has learned in these areas to aide
in the social skills seminars and workshops which A.R.T. produces, as well
as organize youth volunteers for fundraising. Ms. Christy's passion for
helping children with autism stems from her participation at the Claremont
Autism Center over the years.Email
